The “Hunger games” and your health

Hey

I hope you found the videos I shot earlier in the week useful. If you missed them they are in a link at the bottom in the p.s.

Last night I sat down with Jo to watch the “Hunger Games”……. I was gripped by it, until I did my usual trick of falling asleep when sat in a dark room on a comfy seat……. I really need to be stood up with strobe lighting on!

It made me think a bit though, if you haven’t watched it, 12-18 year old kids get selected from a community/district have to fight to the end against 23 others……it was looking like it was heading to be pretty brutal……

…must carry on from that point next time.

But what got me thinking was that on the way to this area where the “games” take place, these two kids from district 12, were subjected to the “mentorship” of an alcoholic who had won this event previously.

I don’t know about you, but if I am heading into that sort of situation I want the right people around me giving me the best guidance possible.

Much like when you are dealing with your health and fitness for this matter, you need to make sure you have the right people around you, setting you up for success.

So we need to make sure that we are surrounded by :

  • Friends / family who don’t encourage you to “have just one” when you don’t really want “just one” because you know it will be “just one packet”
  • a coach, who “gets it”…gets that its not just about eat less and move more and doing 100 burpees a day! They understand that there is a holistic process and a journey to achieving success with health.

What I thought I would do is share with you a little something I put together last week to help clients identify if they are slipping off or heading in the right direction.

I called it a “compliance chart”, but essentially it contains 7 of the VITAL basics that we currently teach to help empower people to make better decisions on a daily and weekly basis with their training and nutrition. Obviously there is scope to adapt this but what we are aiming for is a greater than 80% “tick rate” for results. For better results, guess what, better than 80% “tick rate” in each of the fields.

So print this off, pin it up somewhere you will see it each day and see how it works for you.

COMPLIANCE CHART 2015

I hope it helps you push on……

That’s it from me today…..oh and there wont be a black Friday sale email from me…… sorry!

But I will be holding a 21 Day Pre Christmas Health Kick to help people out who would rather not gain a ton of weight in the festive season. So if you want to get one of the places on this ONLINE programme then all you need to do is quickly register an interest by emailing info@fa-fitness.co.uk to get first priority on that programme.

Matt 🙂
