Your Health and Fitness Is Not Your “Job” ;)

Hey

First up I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for the lovely messages that both Jo and I received around the time of our wedding.

Very humbling and made the day extra special!

Thanks.

——- Are You Treating Your Health and Fitness Like  a “job”——

Now on to the main part of todays email.

I like to share with you…..I didn’t do that as much as I normally like last week….the excitement of the weekend hit me for 6!

So……

Your inbox was a little quiet.

So the plan this week is to get right back into it.

I have got some great content for you.

–       how to eat on training and non training days

–       what to do to help with detoxification, which frankly is the corner stone of health.

–       Celebrating some client achievements, including a birth , a couple of  triathlon virgins and lots of people making huge strides with their health and fat loss.

–       Plus something I have noticed in the fitness industry that you should be aware of….

Health and fitness is not your ‘job’…believe it or not 😉

Clearly there are different definitions of jobs, some require different hours, some require work to be done outside of core hours……

But lets just say for now 9-5, Monday to Friday….that’s kinda “normal” right…..

You see……After finishing this mornings session with 26 Blast Fitness Camp members at around 7am….it got me thinking…..

Its not their job…….

Its not mine either…… (???)

Your  (and mine, we are in this together) health and fitness is a lifestyle…..it doesn’t just stop on a Friday at 5pm.

Your body doesn’t just suddenly decide that it should be eating cakes and be soaked in beer at that time…….

Your mind might……but believe me the liver will tell you different……

It’s not like the “9-5 job” …… your health and fitness has no schedule….

We have to get out of the habit of  following fads…..

Taking a month off of looking after yourself …….. when did your heart and lungs say to you last……ah I am taking this month off…….

One of the biggest mistakes off the back of this is that people often focus on the pain…

–       the removal of their daily treat

–       starting the detox plan

–       the time commitment of training

–       getting out of bed to go training

–       making lunch instead of eating the “shi**y” sandwich from the garage

If you focus on the results

–       completing that half marathon or marathon

–       losing that 10lbs or 20% of your body fat

–       dropping that dress size

–       doing your first mud run

–       taking part in a triathlon

(by the way all of the above have been achieved by clients within the last 10 weeks.)

So the underlying message is don’t treat your health and fitness as a “job” (as we have defined it in this email) and shift your focus from “pain” to the “results”…
