Your 4 Keys To Setting Up For Fitness Success

Good afternoon,

Thanks to all those of you who have replied regarding the ‘Cornwall’s Best Fitness Instructor’ award I mentioned in yesterdays email. I believe the initial round of voting ends on Thursday so I will let you know how that goes.

I wanted to send you a little email on something I have been working hard on since 2011. Yep, that’s the culture within our Blast Fitness Camps. I knew that I wanted it to be different to ‘other classes’, infact I didn’t want it to be a class.

I wanted to create a TEAM feel. Much more than just about the coach who is there or the 40 minutes that clients come in and train.

CULTURE- we have managed to create a team environment where working in pairs or small groups within the session helps our clients to meet new people and work together to complete mini challenges. It also helps as those who have been there longer help our newer members by encouraging them to keep going when it would be easier to stop.

EMPOWERMENT– I encourage our clients to make better decisions around their nutrition and lifestyle. Telling people what to do works to a point, but I have found that by educating people, explaining why and how makes for a much more successful and long lasting experience. Through video and email support the effects of the information get drip fed each week, which helps to reinforce the habits just when the tea and biscuits were about to creep out again.

FUN– part of my biggest mission is to help people get meaningful results, but it should be enjoyable. I don’t want people to look back on their journey with us as a chore or a burden. I want BLAST to be the best part of their day, that place they love to come to outside of the home and family. In the sessions we deliver structure but also love to have a laugh and joke when we can. We are all human after all and its good to not take it all really seriously all the time.

MINDSET– Blast is not only for “the really fit people”. I don’t mind if a client comes to us thinking they are really unfit…..all I want to do is to help them get better. In order for us to help clients, they need to be willing to break down the resistance that has stopped them from starting in the first place. Mental fitness is as important as physical fitness and this is where the coaching really comes into its own.

Here is a little video of the end of a session a couple of weeks ago just to show you what goes on.

If you would like to get involved in the next Blast Fitness Camp, we have a few spaces left for our next camp, which starts on Monday May 30th. All you need to do is email me (info@fa-fitness.co.uk) and I will sort the rest.

If there is anything else I can help you with please let me know.

My Best,

Matt
