Love Handles….How to hold on or NOT!

5 Ways To Make Sure Your Love Handles Hang On To Your Body!

When you are striving for that summer body that YOU want there’s a few things that you must know before you begin.

You probably know some of this already, but you might pick up a little tip or two…

  • Sugar is one of the biggest killers in our society. In 2014- 32% of all Americans are obese, not just overweight, but obese! Unlikely to have gone down…..

 

  • A further 1/3 of their population is overweight (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), and 1/3 of all school children are overweight. The UK are not far behind them!!!

 

Carrying this excess baggage is not only a vanity concern but it has major risk factors in some of the deadly conditions including kidney failure, diabetes and heart disease.

Where am I going with this?

Fructose is one of the primary reasons that we store excess fat. Fructose has unquestionably been in our diets for many years, since we have been on this planet.

However what hasn’t is High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS). This little gremlin can be found in soft drinks and sweets.
Along with a lot of others including these that might suprise you tomato sauce, yoghurts, soups, sandwhich breads and sauces for pasta.

There is now overwhelming evidence that HFCS is a major cause of all the metabolic disorders associated with being overweight and obese.

So the 5 Ways You Can GUARANTEE To Hold On To Your Love Handles!

Pear Shaped-

If you eat any form of sugar you are going to store it as fat if it is not needed immediately or stored in the muscle tissue or liver. It is dangerous to have elevated blood sugar levels and your brain senses this and starts the storage process.

Eating foods high in fructose is particularly effective at helping you INCREASE abdominal fat storage and this is dangerous.

You will also notice that those people who have this have alot of other unhealthy symptoms alongside this. Oh and by the way it doesn’t matter how many calories you consume of it either.

That goes back to the whole whats better 1000 calories worth of chicken and broccoli or Vodka?! Same applies here, HFCS and fructose are not good for you, SIMPLE!

Stop Playing Games With My Brain-

Eat high fructose foods and your appetite will never be satisified. When we eat the signals from our stomach and brain help us to realise that we are full. Well guess what, fructose skips the net here. Subequently you never feel totally full and you eat more.

One study showed that those people who drank something that was high in fructose actually felt more hungry after consuming it than those who drank another drink that was had another form of sugar known as glucose. So your next glass of pure orange juice could be triggering you to eat more!

Lack of Efficient Exercise-

By training using intervals of work and rest you become more efficient at regulating blood sugar levels. This has important benefits at reducing blood acidity and also your ability to reduce sugar cravings. So carry on doing 10 minutes of this 10 minutes of that at the gym and your 30 crunches followed by 10 bicep curls and 10 inner thigh machine repetitions and you will be disappointed with the results that yields.

However get 30-45 minutes , 3-5 x per week of efficient, multi joint exercise that elevates your heart rate and demands more energy each time and you will succeed.

Its a Tight Squeeze- 

When you constantly bombard your cells with fructose, the enzymes within them actually cause increased blood pressure, increased levels of the fats that clog arteries and in the long run cause obesity. On top of this the consumption of fructose actually increases the amount of the same enzymes that cause all of these problems..

The trouble is then is that the amount of the enzyme becomes so high that even just the smallest amount of fructose will cause a huge reaction at a metabolic level. This in many cases explains why many people who are overweight struggle to lose the weight and then keep it off. However, if you lose it the right way it will stay off I have seen this happen. Its about developing a life long pattern that you can live by, not just do in 30 days! Oh so if you want to keep the love handles keep bombarding your cells with fructose!

Softly Softly-

In their book, Johnson & Gower (2008) brought to the attention of their readers a handful of large population studies that demonstrated that people who drank beverages that were sweetened with fructose were more likely to be overweight than those who just drank water and other soft drinks without fructose.

You may have heard of that film ‘supersize me’ ? Well this is true, leadimg brands can give you bigger portions and reduce cost by replacing the natural sugars with fructose and HFCS to make your drinks sweeter and bigger and cheaper! WINNER! Then they get you to buy more food because you dont feel full! By necking your big drink so fast, because you are in a fast food environment right, you are actually causing HUGE increases in blood suagr levels and this has massive effects on insulin (fat storge hormone) and cortisol (stress hormone) , but I will save that for another time.

Before I go I thought I would just list a few of the high fructose foods for you.

These figures are per 100g.

Dates – 32 grams
Raisins – 30 grams
Figs – 29.6 grams
Ketchup – 9 grams (processed)
Sweet pickles – 9 grams
Tomato paste – 6 grams (processed)
Honey – 40.1 grams

My advice is avoid any of processed foods and if you see High Fructose Corn Syrup written anywhere then STAMP on it!

No seriously avoid it like the plague!
