3 Ways To Make A Better Start (Your Fitness Goals)

How to make sure you don’t slip up at the first hurdle…….

Ok so its really easy to get overwhelmed when it comes to starting out on your fitness goals.

To often we concern ourselves with the outcome….5 days into a programme!!!

In what other area of your life do we check to see if we have made it after 5 days…..

If you are saving for a house….. another life goal…..do we check after 5 days to see if we have got there?

No…… you keep saving each day until you reach a target…….

I wanted to share with you some activity from social media over the last 2 weeks which has made me smile.

Reminded me of why we need to keep helping people get started and then help them beyond their original goals.

But also reminding us that we all start somewhere…… I am very proud of all of these people who are at very different stages of their journey.

The process  (daily activities and habits) becomes the goal…..day in day out…….

Remember that…….

It is just simply to be and get better each day……

Some days there will be set backs….that’s life.

3 simple steps to avoid slipping at the first hurdle…….

1. Aim for excellence not perfection..…. if you have a roast potato and a cup of tea….. believe me that is not the end of your fitness mission!

* biggest problem we have in an all or nothing, instant gratification society………..health and fitness goals are no different!

2. Stop comparing your results to other people…..know where you started and where you want to be.

* when is comparing yourself to others going to help you be happy……. just be happy that you are doing the best you can for you!

3. Stop hiding your weaknesses…….don’t be afraid to ask for more help……. we as fitness professionals are here to help.
I often and deliberately ask more questions than I answer most days….. and seek situations to ask people who know more than me to help
me expand my knowledge…whilst being very open about the fact I don’t know much about lots of things.

*So be open, don’t be afraid to ask questions on your health….you can’t be an expert on everything.

That is it…….if you need help……let me know….

Matt 🙂
