10000 Spoons When All You Need Is A Knife

Hey

So I was just listening to some tunes on Wednesday morning as I was planning

our wedding and mentally preparing for my stag do this weekend!

Then this popped up and got me thinking!

“10000 spoons when all you need is a knife!”

Alanis Morisette…take a bow!

Most people’s health and fitness journeys are like this!

There’s so many distractions, so many questions and doubts created by people who actually haven’t got a “scooby-do” making comments on how to get fit, what to eat, what supplements to take for this and that goal…..is it any wonder that people get confused.

So what I wanted to do is help you keep it simple!

You simplicity and discipline create freedom…….that is so true in life too.

Complexities tend to box you in, stunt your ability to think freely and make intelligent decisions around your health.

Best intentions and that…….

…… you see you can have the best seed (ideas/thoughts/goals) …call them what you want…but if you have crap soil (mindset/coaching/programme) you aren’t going anywhere!

There are 3 problems that all the nonsense and BS cause.

  1. DOUBT- self doubt and confusion. People , fitness enthusiasts and people who want to make a start get fearful and confused. The confused mind says no. There appears no way out, which results in perpetual questions.

Guess what, they never get answered because that person, never truly starts!

  1. DISTRACTION- yep shiny object syndrome, this DVD, that book, that class, this membership and that crazy multi level marketing shake. Then the person who was interested is now distracted by the noise!

  1. PROBLEM CENTRIC- you know that person that just focuses on what could go wrong rather than what things would be like if the change was positive. Well, this is what’s happening folks. People email me nearly every day about what we do, and how to get involved, whether it be online or in our studio or fitness camp programmes. But many of them are focusing on what’s going wrong rather than what they want to achieve!

Here is what to do today to start making a difference to your health.

  1. Choose your “guru”…….not 3 or 4 but one for now!
  2. Avoid becoming destination centric…..yep start thinking about what you do on a daily basis that makes you happy and healthy. You have to put your ladder on the right wall, else you may climb hard, and find you aren’t where you want when you get to the top.
  3. Do not goal set yet- you have to create a mindset that WANTs to succeed! Keep asking why , until you find WHY you want to achieve what it is that you said you do…..i promise you it will keep you focused, get you excited and pull you towards it with vigour!
  4. Don’t start with a crazy restrictive diet….that’s like slapping someone on your first date. Just keep it simple, with foods that are clean, whole and naturally sourced. Drink only water and herbal teas.
  5. Don’t sign up for random sessions……seriously become part of an organised programme that has progression and a direction. Not necessarily only mine but seriously you owe yourself more than just that randomness!

Ok, I hope that gets you thinking and that the last five points allow you to make good decisions.

If you want to take action with your health and want my help, I would be more than happy to help you keep it simple!
